My Logo

For this project I was instructed to make my own original logo. I began by sketching out ideas I had. After I had several ideas and a few I liked I moved to the computer. I began putting my ideas in Illustrator.

These are the first few that I tried. I tried having my initials one in front of the other. I didn't think it looked great so I tried putting them side by side.

After those I tried more ideas I had. I tried typing out my name in different shapes. First I tried my first name then my last name.

I tried putting the ideas together. I tried putting the diamond in front and the rectangle in front. Then I had another idea. I tried a diamond but used shapes to cut out small sections.

Once I had come up with my two favorites I started adding color. I wasn't sure what colors I wanted to use so I tried a few different colors and mixes.

After I had tried different colors I began using mock-up images to see what my logo would look like. I ended up going with simple black and blue for my logos as that is what I preferred.

This is the logo I decided to go with. I liked the simple colors. I also thought it looked more professional and cleaner than my other logo.

The Wizard of Oz

Contrast

  • I used color contrast in this poster to split the poser into sections.
  • I used size contrast by making the important things bigger and the less important things smaller.
  • I also used different fonts to help show importance.

Alignment

  • I left aligned all of the top half, and right aligned the bottom half

Repetition

  • I used the same 3 colors throughout.
  • I used the same font for a lot of the important parts.

Proximity

  • I put things that went together closer and split sections by moving them farther away

Letter Anatomy

Typography

For this project I had to take my name, in a serif font, and label all the parts of the font. Serif fonts add many parts to each letter. I labeled all the parts added to my name by a serif font. I labeled the base line, x-height, and caps height along with the other parts. There are ten parts labeled not including the base line, x-height, and caps height.

Before and during this project I learned many things about typefaces. I learned that serif means the extra lines add on the end of letters. I also learned sans-serif means without serifs. I learned that typefaces can mean as much, or even more then the words themselves. Lastly, I learned that fonts fit in certain situation, one font is not good for every situation.

Color Wheel

Project Description

For this project I was instructed to create my own color wheel inside of Adobe Illustrator. I had to create the shapes and words using tools inside of Illustrator.

What I learned/reviewed

I learned some of the basics of using Illustrator throughout this project. This was more of a review as some of the tools are the same or similar to those I had previously used in photoshop.

How did I do

I think I did pretty good on this project. This is a very simple project so there isn't much I could do to improve it. I think the only way to improve it would be to make it 3D.

This is a different color wheel I made using effects in Illustrator.

Color Schemes examples in logos

Logo Color Schemes

Analogous

This logo uses the analogous colors of red, yellow, and orange. I think the company probably chose these colors because these colors are also warm which is appetizing and the red represents salsa because they are selling tortilla chips.

This logo uses the analogous colors of green, yellow green, and yellow. I think the company probably chose these colors because it gives a natural or clean feeling.

Complementary

This logo uses the complementary colors of purple and yellow. I think this organization probably chose these colors to stand out and for names to be easily read.

This logo uses the complementary colors of red and green. I think this organization probably chose these colors to stand out and to fit the theme of the logo.

Warm

This logo uses the warm colors of red and yellow. I think this company probably chose these colors because they are appetizing and this is a chip company.

This logo uses the warm colors of red and yellow. I think this company probably chose these colors because they show the pizza will be warm and appetizing.

Cool

This logo uses the cool color of blue. I think this company probably chose this color because it is more relaxed and gives a precise feeling as they are a tech company.

This logo uses the cool color of blue. I think this company probably chose this color as it can grab your attention but it isn't as loud as reds or yellows.

Monochromatic

This logo uses the shades and tints of the color blue. I think this company probably chose this color to show a simplistic or relaxed design.

This logo uses shades and tints of the color green. I think this company probably chose this color to show their focus on nature.

Triad

This logo uses the triad colors of red, yellow, and blue. I think this company probably chose these colors to show it has a large variety within it.

This logo uses the triad colors of red, yellow, and blue. I think this company probably chose these colors to show and warm appetizing place with the yellow and red but some variety with the blue.

e9 Q2 Web Project

For this quarter two final project I had to create a basic website in DreamWeaver. I was given a base of a header, footer, main text area, and a sidebar. There were videos made for me to follow to make this website. I started with putting in my name as the header, moving in the elevator pitch I had typed into the main text area, and adding a date as the footer that changes when the website is modified. Then I took a picture and moved that in. Once that was done I created a second page where I put a few of my projects from earlier in the year. Then I put links into my website to access other websites.

After the main parts of the website were done I began coloring the header, footer, main area, sidebar, background, and links. After all of that I took screenshots and turned them in. In this project I learned some of the basics of DreamWeaver and web design. I think I did fairly well on this project. If I did it again I think I would need some help but I could do a lot more by myself. I think it was a fun and interesting project to make a website I think it would be fun to do again around a different subject or different things.

Chase Scene

Our group began by coming up with what shots we wanted to take and the locations we wanted to take them at. Once we had a scouted our locations we began filming. We changed a few things throuout to make our video better. I was one of the actors for our group. Our group member that was filming was sick the second day of filming so we had to get a new person to film for our last few clips.
After we had all our clips we airdropped them to our computers and began editing. Our group filmed a lot of extra clips so I began by finding the clips I thought were the best or fit the best. Once I had found, cut, and fit the clips I found two different audio tracks to fit the clips. After that I added a fade to black and a sound affect.
